[14:27:07] <KabaLF> ok, anyone here that can help me with git, again? :P nadlabak maybe?
[14:27:24] <KabaLF> I made a change on my local repo
[14:27:31] <KabaLF> commited it, locally
[14:27:42] <KabaLF> now, I've created a github account, and forked a repository from nadlabak
[14:28:07] <KabaLF> and now I want to push my local commit to my forked repository on github
[14:29:00] <KabaLF> I've added the remote: git remote add origin git@github.com:fernandofig/android_vendor_motorola_umts_sholes.git
[14:29:44] <KabaLF> modified the manifest to point the vendor_motorola_blah repository to my own on github
[14:30:16] <KabaLF> repo synced, and then tried this to push my changes: git push origin github/gingerbread
[14:31:08] <KabaLF> it says "Everything up-to-date", but my timeline still doesn't show the commit, so it looks like it's not really pushing anything
[14:31:44] <KabaLF> when I check the tree history with gitg, it still shows my commit but without the tags "m/gingerbread" and "git/gingerbread"
[14:33:05] <KabaLF> meaning these tags still show on the commit before my own
[14:33:28] -!- b0g [b0g!~b0g@92.84.186.74] has joined #milestone-modding
[14:34:52] -!- raubvogel [raubvogel!~raubvogel@shop.monetra.com] has joined #milestone-modding
[14:35:48] <KabaLF> tried too: git push git@github.com:fernandofig/android_vendor_motorola_umts_sholes.git
[14:36:05] <KabaLF> also says "everything up-to-date", but no changes can be seen on github
[14:36:21] <nadlabak> KabaLF: so you probably wasn't on the gigerbread branch when you commited your change
[14:36:22] <b0g> i have a problem in open recovery...help me pls!
[14:37:19] <nadlabak> what if you cherry-pick your commit?
[14:37:51] <KabaLF> I thought that too, but I'm at loss at how I do that. I tried git checkout github/gingerbread , and then reapplied my changes, but when I commit it still goes to my local HEAD (as I understand it)
[14:38:03] -!- Redh3ad has quit [Ping timeout: 265 seconds]
[14:40:36] <nadlabak> do you have gingerbread branch at all? 'git checkout gingerbread' works?
[14:41:30] <KabaLF> git checkout github/gingerbread , you mean?
[14:42:05] <nadlabak> no, I mean local gingerbread branch
[14:42:14] -!- Red|Off [Red|Off!redf@www.crithead.de] has joined #milestone-modding
[14:42:15] <KabaLF> just git checkout gingerbread gives an error, apparently git thinks I'm referring a file
[14:42:24] <KabaLF> no, I should create one then?
[14:42:34] <nadlabak> yes
[14:43:25] <KabaLF> sorry, if it all sounds stupid, I'm still trying to get a hang on how git works... I guess I'm too brain damaged by subversion :P
[14:44:30] <nadlabak> git checkout -b gingerbread upstream/gingerbread
[14:46:41] <KabaLF> "fatal: git checkout: updating paths is incompatible with switching branches.
[14:46:42] <KabaLF> Did you intend to checkout 'upstream/gingerbread' which can not be resolved as commit?
[14:47:03] <KabaLF> github/gingerbread instead of upstream/gingerbread works though
[14:47:14] <KabaLF> although I do have the upstream remote added
[14:52:01] <nadlabak> git fetch upstream
[14:52:07] <nadlabak> then
[14:52:20] <nadlabak> git checkout -b gingerbread upstream/gingerbread
[14:53:11] <nadlabak> git cherry-pick <your commit number>
[14:53:39] -!- stlifey has quit [Quit: WeeChat 0.3.7-dev]
[14:57:23] <nadlabak> KabaLF: your local gingerbread branch created by the above should automatically track upstream/gingerbread branch
[14:57:48] <KabaLF> yea, I think I got it now
[14:58:50] <KabaLF> I managed to push it, but it was kinda messy because I used the origin remote I created, and I think that wasn't necessary, so I deleted the repository on github and reforked, I'm gonna try again
[14:59:04] <nadlabak> KabaLF: I'm curious, what are you pushing to vendor?
[14:59:19] <KabaLF> I think the step I was missing was creating a branch that would track the remote
[14:59:31] <KabaLF> hehe, you'll know soon enough ;)
[14:59:59] <KabaLF> I was actually doing all this (creating github account, pushing, etc.) just so I could do a pull request to you
[15:00:13] <nadlabak> OK :)

[15:23:39] <KabaLF> nadlabak: there
[15:23:45] <KabaLF> sent you the pull request. phew!
[15:24:43] <KabaLF> I really just wanna know if it's worth it. I can't really decide if it's making much difference, but it's not hurting stability, so it doesn't hurt to try :P
[15:24:56] <KabaLF> https://github.com/nadlabak/android_vendor_motorola_umts_sholes/pull/1
[15:29:12] <nadlabak> KabaLF: I see, thanks. I haven't found the time to test it yet. Btw., have you noticed that the xda threads (spammed all over different device sections) were deleted?
[15:29:24] <KabaLF> yes, I did notice
[15:30:13] <KabaLF> OTOH, the library weights about 74kb, so I found it unlikely that it could be doing something malicious and still managing to accelerate webkit
[15:30:52] <KabaLF> the user that posted that thread was apparently "disabled", whatever that means
[15:34:18] <KabaLF> I found other references to that libwebkitaccel.so, but they are usually for htc phones (mostly qualcomm cpus). I believe this specific library is for the SGS2 (which is... OMAP4?), so I suppose it's "more compatible" with us...
[15:34:18] -!- stlifey [stlifey!~stlifey@121.11.119.199] has joined #milestone-modding
[15:36:01] <KabaLF> either way, there's still one thread that wasn't deleted: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1475249
[15:36:28] <KabaLF> although this one cites the source being the HTC Desire Z
[15:37:45] <KabaLF> btw, what's with the "Chainfire derp" you reverted? Did you gave up on that? :)
[15:38:24] <KabaLF> I noticed though that it wasn't working even with the typo corrected anyway
[15:45:00] <nadlabak> KabaLF: well, the libs with CF3D in name are actually the backups of original libs replaced by CF3D installation... ;)
[15:45:21] <KabaLF> oh, I see :)
[15:47:24] <endstille> yeah, i also realzed, that i still have to update chainfire, each time i flash new cm ;)
[15:47:24] <endstille> btw. are there any "big" changes in 7.2.0?
[15:51:12] -!- broucaries [broucaries!~bastien@phy1.landsofr00t.eu] has joined #milestone-modding
[15:53:49] <KabaLF> endstille: off the top of my head: adb over network, blade style for ringlock and scrolling cache adjustment
[15:54:10] <KabaLF> the rest are mostly small fixes and new/fixed translations
[15:55:51] <endstille> ahh, sounds good :) also i realized the best improvment in scrolling, after i removed some apps, that uses my ram, but which were un-needed (like ebay, facebook messenger etc)
[15:56:17] <endstille> once they were gone, i had some really free MBs of RAM and the whole phone was amazting fast again :D
[15:57:17] <endstille> i don't use adb over network, and i use ring-lock style, so there are not so important for me ^^
[15:58:01] <nadlabak> endstille: call recording
[15:58:10] <endstille> aii
[15:58:13] <KabaLF> oh yeah, forgot about that one
[15:58:16] <endstille> thats nice, if you ever need it
[15:58:28] <KabaLF> I was actually looking for an app on the market this morning
[15:58:32] <KabaLF> but none worked so far
[15:58:46] <KabaLF> *looking for an app for call rec
[15:58:54] <endstille> how will the call be compressed?
[15:58:59] <endstille> i mean what codec
[15:59:38] <nadlabak> actually, since 7.1.2 it should be all called 7.2.0 RCx, rather than 7.1.x
[16:00:05] <endstille> okay, i just got my RC0 this morning :D
[16:00:19] <KabaLF> I use ringlock too (with some adjustments on animation I made), I liked the blade style at first but I've grown tired of it, Holo looks better :P
[16:00:30] <endstille> hehe
[16:00:46] <nadlabak> I switched back to upstream numbering because the official 7.2.0 RC1 release is very close
[16:00:59] <endstille> i just wanted to know, if the new llvm in ubuntu really speeds up the build, but i think i just did not make clean last weekend, so i got the impression
[16:01:06] <endstille> because this morning it was even slower :s
[16:02:49] <zewelor> nadlabak: is there any progress on enabling swap ? skrilax wrote anything ho is it going ?
[16:11:59] <nadlabak> zewelor: as far as I know, it's still more or less in the research phase

[18:15:47] <TheSpiritof69> According to your carrier and country
[18:16:49] <TheSpiritof69> You need RSD lite, the flashing tool, the Moto USB Drivers, an SBF
[18:17:07] <TheSpiritof69> Boot the milestone to bootloader, hold dpad up while powering on

[18:22:35] <luhx_> the problem is
[18:22:39] <luhx_> when I bootloader
[18:22:51] <luhx_> the loader isn't the one I've checked on tutorials
[18:22:53] <luhx_> is a mod one
[18:24:08] -!- luhx has quit [Ping timeout: 240 seconds]
[18:26:39] <k1l_> depends on which milestone you really have there in your hands. 1,2,3, xt x 720, .... and which bootloader is installed. etc.
[18:27:35] <luhx_> milestone 1
[18:27:52] <luhx_> the bootloader is
[18:27:54] <luhx_> just a sec
[18:28:26] <TheSpiritof69> There is no modded bootloader for MS
[18:29:10] <luhx_> Androidiani OR by Luca & Azhad
[18:29:19] <TheSpiritof69> That is not the bootloader.
[18:29:23] <TheSpiritof69> That is the Recovery
[18:29:26] <luhx_> hmmm
[18:29:41] <TheSpiritof69> You didn't boot to bootloader.
[18:29:42] <luhx_> I turn on the cellphone with the X holded down
[18:29:51] <luhx_> then just hold X
[18:29:52] <TheSpiritof69> 18:17:07 < TheSpiritof69> Boot the milestone to bootloader, hold dpad up while powering on
[18:29:54] <k1l_> luhx_: that is recovery and not bootloader
[18:29:55] <TheSpiritof69> ._.
[18:30:02] <luhx_> hmmmm
[18:30:03] <TheSpiritof69> You can either listen to me
[18:30:03] <luhx_> sorry
[18:30:05] <TheSpiritof69> Or don't
[18:30:06] <k1l_> different pair of shoes
[18:30:10] <luhx_> didn't see that message
[18:30:10] <luhx_> =/
[18:30:28] <TheSpiritof69> 18:15:48 < TheSpiritof69> According to your carrier and country
[18:30:28] <TheSpiritof69> 18:16:49 < TheSpiritof69> You need RSD lite, the flashing tool, the Moto USB Drivers, an SBF
[18:30:31] <TheSpiritof69> 18:17:07 < TheSpiritof69> Boot the milestone to bootloader, hold dpad up while powering on
[18:30:35] <TheSpiritof69> 18:17:30 < TheSpiritof69> Start RSD lite as Administrator, select SBF, plug in phone in bootloader mode and press Start :P
[18:31:05] <luhx_> in this recovery mode, is it possible to reset everything that is installed but the mod?
[18:31:26] <k1l_> if want to keep the mod and just make a clean new start-: go to recovery and select all the 3 wipes down in the menĂ¼: cache, dalvik and data partition. after that you have a clean mod whatever was used before
[18:32:08] <luhx_> I just have a Dalvik Cache here
[18:32:58] <TheSpiritof69> Factory Reset does the same
[18:34:19] <TheSpiritof69> But you can only get rid of the ROM itself by flashing an sbf
[18:34:22] <TheSpiritof69> Or a new ROM
[18:34:50] <TheSpiritof69> Or, to be complete, restore a nandroid backup with another rom
