[12:40:40] <endstille> hey i just read, you're updateing wlan driver :) when will compiling be worthy again? as it takes >2 hours, i don't want to do it "justforfun", if you know what i mean ;)
[12:52:02] <nadlabak> endstille: it's just 4 prebuilt files. kernel modules: tiwlan_drv.ko, tiap_drv.ko; firmware files: fw_wlan1271.bin, fw_tiwlan_ap.bin
[12:52:57] <nadlabak> you can just grab them and replace them in your current build on phone
[13:01:01] <endstille> ah okay =)

[13:08:40] <endstille> but
[13:10:21] <endstille> nadlabak: do you have idea, what could cause the fact, that i cannot boot ICS compilied on system b, while GB works fine here. on system a i can compile and run both version.... every packet should be the same, as i copied my bashhistory from a to b and installed the same packets there aswell...
[13:10:54] <endstille> only diference i can see is hardware (obviously) and unity <> KDE (one is ubuntu, one kubuntu)
[13:17:59] <endstille> i thought, maybe the ICS scripts do some mistake while running in 8 threads...
[13:25:38] <K4sperle_> endstille: same toolchain?
[13:28:39] <K4sperle_> nadlabak: is there any drawback to having the logger always enabled?
[13:32:01] -!- RCFwork [RCFwork!~klaas@85.255.197.126] has joined #milestone-modding
[13:36:09] <endstille> K4sperle: i've installed the same software (except the unity / kde differne), use the same sources (i even removed the whole ics4mm-folder, and DL'd all again) and run the same scritps (provided on nadlabak's building-page)
[13:37:13] <nadlabak> K4sperle_: I never turn it off. The aplogd daemon takes only 200K of RAM. The main drawback is that the logs take space in cache, which is not an issue if you use ext partition on sdcard
[13:38:50] <nadlabak> the size of logs is limited to 5MB by default, 8 files = 40MB max
[13:39:12] <nadlabak> the max size per file can be changed in build.prop
[13:39:40] <endstille> öhm.. how can one read the logs?
[13:39:45] <endstille> :[
[13:39:56] <nadlabak> adb pull /cache/logger
[13:40:08] <nadlabak> then open them in any text editor
[13:41:14] <endstille> ah :) thanks

[14:08:53] <K4sperle_> nadlabak: hm. now, all i had to do was wait and it did eventually boot. funny, that didn't seem to solve it last time i tried
[14:09:01] <K4sperle_> log was full of DexOpt stuff
[14:09:40] <K4sperle_> endstille: faulty RAM in one machine?
[14:11:00] <endstille> hmmm, i will check it, thanks

[14:44:05] <nadlabak> K4sperle_: yep, if there's a lot of apps installed, the generation of dex files during the first boot can take pretty long time. ICS is better in this regard, as it displays progress dialog, so user knows what's going on - how many apps have been already dexopted, how many is left

[16:39:16] <nadlabak> fjfalcon: I noticed you're using proprietary libLCML and libbridge on XT720. What's the issue with versions built from source?
[16:45:13] <nadlabak> fjfalcon: are those two proprietary libs working under CM9? Are there any errors when you issue /system/bin/dspexec -v -T /system/lib/dsp/baseimage.dof under CM9 on XT720?
[16:47:27] <nadlabak> fjfalcon: lwxddlqkillapp is asking for help with camera on XT720, but it's not very handy to communicate via forum posts
[16:57:03] <peshovec__> nadlabak libbridge can be build and used from source
[16:57:25] <peshovec__> libLCML we are stick to the proprietary one. if using builded from source, no luck with booting
[17:00:03] <nadlabak> peshovec__: do you have CM9 runing? Is the dspexec command I posted above producing any errors?
[17:02:59] <peshovec__> Sorry, no, i think will miss the cm9 (at least till possible), i don;t like it, especially with lcd_density != 240 ...
[17:03:57] <peshovec__> i just booted with https://android-review.googlesource.com/19583 (still digging about leaks and npe and. ...)
[17:04:24] <peshovec__> if it looks good to you, nice (as i use your packages/apps/Settings )
[17:06:41] <nadlabak> OK :)
[17:06:42] <peshovec__> as i remember fjfalcons use both libbridge and libLCML from moto proprietary..
[17:08:35] <nadlabak> I don't remember the last time I encountered any NPE on CM7, but it must have been very long ago :)
[17:10:20] <peshovec__> i think than i started collect similar commits ....
[17:10:21] <nadlabak> the only sign of any noticeable leak I'm observing is in the com.android.phone process
[17:10:49] <peshovec__> actually i can't say there is problem, just something like leak and slowness after some time...
[17:11:17] <peshovec__> e.g. cut the rope is ok after fresh boot and after about day just stop loading ... it is annoying...
[17:11:51] <peshovec__> baddest, sometime phone locks-up, if somebody call, when i use memory hungry app...
[17:11:59] <peshovec__> hence :
[17:12:04] <peshovec__> https://github.com/CyanogenModXT720/android_frameworks_base/commits/nadlabak-moto
[17:12:48] <peshovec__> all are tested (booted with them before few minutes), the last two are actually one, but i forced it for my build...
[17:15:25] <nadlabak> uhm, the MemoryHeap offset patch is one of the things we really needed to revert in ICS to get camera working
[17:19:37] <nadlabak> it breaks compatibility with the camera proprietary libs
[17:20:48] <nadlabak> I guess you haven't tested a clean build after this patch...
[17:21:33] -!- RCFwork has quit [Quit: Leaving.]
[17:23:20] <peshovec__> it just cm7, clean build no, will run test now ... (will take at least 8 hours through ...)
[17:24:02] <peshovec__> and this commits are not in fjfalcons, it is my testing ....
[17:25:39] <peshovec__> hihi, no need for clean build, camera is not working now :)
[17:25:57] <nadlabak> :)
[17:26:28] <peshovec__> i will test anyway to see if that will help for something ...:)
