[02:33:05] <easo2k> got my milestone 2 with hardware qwertz <3
[02:33:40] <easo2k> tried around a bit, rooted by superoneclick and flashed cm10 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1827801
[02:34:01] <easo2k> flashed gapps too. some days later what da heck
[02:34:16] <easo2k> "package file is invalid" on google store
[02:35:18] <easo2k> after some terrifing days i got that the error was causing by entering false proxy settings in wlan connections
[02:35:46] <easo2k> but deleting wlan connection and re adding it wasnt helping
[02:36:24] <easo2k> by mistake i disaboled the "sync with google to restore wlan settings, bla and bla"
[02:36:32] <easo2k> and it worked
[02:43:08] <easo2k> i ended up in fudge the devices storage, edited init.d etc
[02:43:59] <easo2k> nothing worked out, google is a f#cking prick, its accounts on android stores something somewhere without the option to edit or see it
[02:44:31] <easo2k> it stored the proxy setting so i wasnt able to disable it, without my knowledge
[02:44:35] <easo2k> ahw damn
[02:44:46] <easo2k> sorry 4 monologue
[02:47:33] -!- karmapolis [karmapolis!~karmapoli@190.19.66.172] has joined #milestone-modding
[02:51:19] <karmapolis> Hi. Is there any kind soul around here who could provide a tun.ko module for CM9?
[02:55:13] <easo2k> Before downloading this app please visit this page to check if your phone's kernel, model and build number matches an entry in our database: http://droidvpn.com/tun-repository.php
[02:58:10] <karmapolis> a w e s o m e !! Thanks.
[03:19:26] <dx> karmapolis: i don't think any module in there matches the latest 2ndboot kernel
[03:33:31] <xvilka> dx: it could be loaded if kernel version will be the same, with same arm arch
[03:39:03] <karmapolis> I'm still unsure if tun is missing from this kernel or not. I may be having some other problem with the openvpn client. Sadly this kernel doesn't have a /proc/config.gz.
[03:39:41] <karmapolis> but yeah, same version and arch should suffice for this module.
[03:41:30] <karmapolis> I'm using mrvek's kernel, so that's a problem too (no repo)
[03:46:18] <dx> xvilka: oh ok, i didn't see any 2.6.32.60 for a853 though
[03:47:15] <dx> xvilka: (by the way i didn't forget about pushing, just turns out that half of the code was written from the milestone and i'm a bit lazy with coding style when writing from there, so it needs some massive cleanup)
[03:48:50] <dx> vim is surprisingly comfortable to use with that keyboard, but i still prefer to write short variable names (there's a few "a" and "b")
[04:32:29] -!- easo2k has quit [Ping timeout: 248 seconds]
[05:38:40] <karmapolis> hmm. Tun is definitely not present. I'll have to compile it or ask mrvek for it.
[05:41:50] <dx> 'not present'?
[05:41:56] <karmapolis> (the droidvpn repository is not directly available, and the tun.ko installer app won't let me install it)
[05:42:04] <karmapolis> as in: not built-in.
[05:42:24] <dx> can't you just modprobe it?
[05:42:53] <karmapolis> no, it's not present either. No tun.ko binary.
[05:43:01] <dx> wat.
[05:43:12] <dx> well that sucks
[05:43:20] <karmapolis> find / -name tun.ko shows none.
[05:43:30] <karmapolis> yup
[05:43:44] <dx> karmapolis: is it 2.6.32.60?
[05:43:49] <karmapolis> yeah
[05:51:14] <karmapolis> The tun.ko installer fails because even for those modules that match this kernel version their localversion differs from mine, so it doesn't install anything. And I couldn't find how to download directly from the tun.ko repository without using the tun.ko installer.
[06:00:03] <dx> karmapolis: http://dequis.org/tun.ko
[06:00:59] <dx> i can't test it myself because nadlabak's cm7's kernel compiles it built-in instead of module
[06:04:49] <dx> aaand also, i've needed this for a while and i finally built it (works out of the box with sshfs :D): http://dequis.org/fuse.ko
[06:25:00] <karmapolis> dx: it tries to load it, passes the magic check but then fails saying "can't register misc device 200".
[06:25:39] <karmapolis> (I have already created /dev/tun and /dev/net/tun, so that's not the problem).
[06:26:40] <dx> karmapolis: same error that i get because it's compiled built-in
[06:30:32] <dx> karmapolis: "ls -l /dev/tun" please?
[06:53:37] <karmapolis> dx: you are correct, tun IS built-in. My bad...
[06:54:44] <dx> karmapolis: oh cool. then check that your /dev/tun is c 10 200, uid 1016 gid 1016, mode 640
[06:55:47] <dx> not completely sure about uid/gid, since they are hardcoded in the rom and might vary with android version (they mean "vpn" here)
[06:56:23] <karmapolis> dx: /dev/tun is owned by vpn:vpn, but it needs 666 perms to work (otherwise OpenVPN app cannot use it).
[06:57:14] <karmapolis> I have it working now, I think. Thanks for your help!
[06:57:15] <dx> karmapolis: eehh, usually the point of groups in android is adding apps that need it to the relevant group
[06:57:23] <dx> but if that works, cool
[06:58:21] <karmapolis> yes, that's the idea but somehow that's not how it's working out of the box now.
[06:58:48] <karmapolis> Probably this app has some packaging bug, or something.
[07:03:08] <karmapolis> BTW, that fuse.ko is handy. Thanks for that too.
[07:10:40] <dx> :D
